5th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour
During the week of 15 to 20 May 2022, the Government of South Africa hosts the 5th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour. It comes at a critical time, with the COVID-19 pandemic threatening to reverse years of progress in the fight to end child labour.

Focus on child labour in Africa’s supply chains

Funded by the government of the Netherlands, the ILO's ACCEL Africa project aims to eliminate child labour from supply chains in Africa, including in the cocoa sector in C?te d'Ivoire and the artisanal gold mining sector in Mali. The project's Chief Technical Advisor, Minoru Ogasawara, explains.

ILO/UNICEF: Social protection contributes to reducing child labour

A new ILO-UNICEF report calls for the closing of the social protection coverage gap that means 1.5 billion children are still unsupported by family or child cash benefits.
